(AP) The pizza maker behind the famous “Papas” pizza chain, Papas, is making the best pies in the business.
Its pizza is now available at more than 2,000 restaurants in the United States, Australia and Mexico.
The company announced Thursday that it had sold a record amount of pizza in a single day in March, surpassing even the company’s record for the month of March, the company said.
Papasa also said it has signed a $1 billion deal with McDonalds to serve the burgers of the company for the next five years.
Pasas, the owner of a chain of restaurants and bakeries in southern California and Texas, is also expanding its business in Mexico.
It opened a restaurant in Mexico City this week and plans to open more in Mexico and Central America in coming years.
It also has a joint venture with Burger King in the U.S. and plans more restaurants in Mexico later this year.
Pizza delivery company Pizza Hut announced earlier this month it plans to expand its delivery service to 30 U.M. locations.
The news was welcomed by the restaurant industry, which is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the U,M., which had its fastest-shrinking workforce in the past decade, according to a recent report by the Institute of Restaurant Management.
The industry is struggling to find workers for a growing number of jobs.
The average salary for cooks and dishwashers dropped more than 30 percent in the last year.
And the number of cooks on temporary contracts has risen by more than 70 percent since 2011.
The U.H.M.-Pasos report shows that U. of M graduates are earning an average of $46,700, up from $34,400 in 2012.
The national median household income for cooks is $45,000, up about 6 percent from the last two years.
The growth in the number and types of jobs for cooks has been driven in part by the increase in international students and the growing importance of restaurants.
The number of international students has jumped nearly 15 percent since 2014.
More than 80 percent of the students are from the United Kingdom, China, India, Brazil, Italy, Canada, Germany and Spain, according the report.
The median salary for dishwasher was $35,600, up 9 percent from $28,300 in 2012 and up 16 percent from 2008.
