Papa Johns is reportedly planning to stop selling pizza on Sundays as a sign of solidarity with the Palestinians.
The chain’s website says that it’s “committed to serving pizza in peace and dignity,” but that it will also stop serving bread, pasta, breadsticks, or cakes on Sundays.
A Papa John himself told the Wall Street Journal that the chain is “not going to stop offering pizza” on Sundays and that they’re not doing it to appease anyone, but because of the conflict.
The Wall Street Press reported that the company is already working on a change to their food delivery system, which will be phased in over time.
It’s unclear if the changes will include a change in delivery time or the fact that they’ll only be implemented on Sundays, which makes the changes more symbolic than substantive.
The decision comes in the wake of Papa John International’s boycott of Israel, which has seen its revenues plummet.
